Finalize the content before adapting it
Take a ready-made offer: one product or service, a title, an explanation and an action. Approve these parts before creating the dimensions. Otherwise, each layout will have a slightly different meaning, and composition comparisons will become inaccurate. Separately write down the mandatory conditions that cannot be lost during reduction.
For the learning activity, create a square, vertical and horizontal area. These are proportions for the exercise, not universal sizes of the platforms. In a live deployment, check the requirements, file restrictions, and zones that the interface covers. Adaptation must take into account the location of the show, not just the aspect ratio.
Separate permanent and replaceable elements
The text of the offer, the main colors, the font and the nature of the image will remain constant. The placement, framing, line breaks, and size of the secondary object may change. Such a list will help maintain a common style, even if the compositions are noticeably different from each other.
For this exercise, you can take ten free backgrounds with podiums. Choose an option where there is some space around the main scene. Not every ready-made background can withstand heavy cropping: if the podium disappears horizontally, choose a different background or change the composition.
Start with a square
Place the title and image so that they do not interfere with each other. Leave the explanation and action as a separate block. Keep this version as a starting point, but do not consider it the only correct diagram for the rest of the proportions. The square is useful for checking content rather than mechanical scaling.
- Vertically, arrange the main blocks sequentially from top to bottom and keep the title reading.
- Horizontally, try text on the left, an object on the right, or another clear pair of areas.
- Set line breaks according to meaning, rather than the arbitrary width of the text box.
- Check the action and conditions after each permutation.
- Don't stretch a photo or PNG along one axis to fill space.
If the format is too narrow, secondary decor can be removed. But the terms of an offer cannot be turned into an unreadable line. First, shorten the optional language and choose a different layout option. Preserving all the embellishments is not more important than the accuracy of the message.
Check the visible scale
Three differently shaped layouts on one sheet may seem disparate. View each at the intended display size. The title and object must retain their role. If the horizontal subject has become the main one, and the text is lost, make it smaller or allocate a quieter area for the text.
Frame the background separately from the subject and the lettering if they are on different layers. This makes it easier to keep the important parts. A flat, finished image has fewer possibilities: sometimes you need a different source. Don't mask lost edges by scaling, which degrades image quality.
Keep your work files clear
Name the options by format and purpose. Export them separately and check that each one has the correct composition, text, and size. After approval, changes should be included in all versions: keep a list of changed data next to the project.
For the initial hierarchy, the short banner header will be useful. If you are using a ready-made scene, see product placement on the podium . Additional open materials are available in a separate section .
Assets for your next layouts
Designer's Pack 2026 contains backgrounds, objects and PSD sources for the following layouts. Select materials with plenty of space if you are planning several formats for one campaign.
