Start with content and mood
Write down the title of the release and the name of the artist in the exact approved spelling. Describe the mood in a few words: tense, cold, soft or energetic. This will help you choose material wisely. Metal and chains are not necessary for the music cover; Here we use them as a concrete example.
Create a square educational document and include blank margins. If you are preparing a real release, check the file and content requirements with the selected distributor. Do not automatically transfer the parameters of another site. For now, the task is to obtain a readable composition, which can then be exported in the required sizes.
Generate the title as a separate object
The massive silver lettering already contains complex reflections and a chain. It's better to start with a short title. Check the letters first, then evaluate whether the chain overlaps key parts of the word.
Metallic silver with chain

the text "YOUR TEXT", bold extruded chrome 3D typography, heavy metallic letters, polished silver metal, beveled edges, thick block letters, dramatic perspective, chrome reflections, metal chain wrapped across and hanging over the letters, realistic steel chain, dark black studio background, cinematic lighting, high contrast reflections, glossy metal surface, ultra detailed 3D render, centered composition, professional logo render, 4k 3:4For a more relaxed version, remove the entire circuit description from the request. Compare the result with the original, keeping the same name. If a long phrase is unreadable, make two lines separately or shorten the visual title only after agreement. You cannot arbitrarily change the name of a release for the sake of a convenient silhouette.
Build a composition of three elements
For the first version, the title, artist name and background are enough. Don't add a photo, logo, flame, or a few decorative objects all at once. Metal letters can already take the role of the main image. An additional item is needed if it is related to the idea of the release and helps the composition.
- Place the title with space around the edges, allowing for the shadow and chain.
- Type the artist's name in regular font and check it in small size.
- Choose a background that maintains the outer outline of the metal letters.
- Align the position of two text blocks along the same axis or clear rule.
If the name gets lost, first make it larger or simplify the background. Another metal effect on small letters won't necessarily help. The size in the editor is deceptive: the cover on a large monitor and a small icon in the track list give a different impression.
Compare three small sketches
Make an option with the title in the center, an option with an offset to the top, and an option with a looser background. Change one compositional variable while keeping the material the same. This way it will be clear what exactly improves reading. Don't choose based solely on large viewing.
Place the three covers side by side at a small preview size. Check the title, name and overall silhouette. If the chain turns into a light stripe across the text, reduce its role or choose a version without it. Poor readability is easier to resolve at this stage than after final approval.
Prepare a working version for edits
Keep the title, name, and background layers separate. Keep the original generation and query nearby. If a new version of the release or a different announcement format appears, you won’t have to restore everything from a flat picture. Before exporting, check the text and view the file in a separate viewer.
For a promotional publication, you can use the same elements, but change their arrangement. Adaptation of the banner into three formats shows this principle. And select a regular font for metal letters according to rules for combining title and explanation .
